Creating the RS800 Workstation

Another important part of the design is the marking system. This is to give the user the accuracy expected by engineers but in a woodworking environment. This is achieved by fitting a marking system to the front and side of the Router Cradle allowing accurate measurements to be transferred to the work piece for both forward and sideways machining.

A number of attachments are also available to expand the normal router functions.

One of the numerous accessories available is a 25mm thick multi-track aluminium front support table, similar to the one you would get on a milling machine. This allows for vices, jigs, and guides etc to be attached from above and adjusted very quickly, lending the workstation to a multitude of uses.

From a Health and Safety point of view, the workstation does need to be bolted to the floor using the sliding brackets fitted or alternatively secured to a workshop wall using the extending arms, which are also fitted to the rear of the machine. Although designed as a 800mm long unit, the system can be individually manufactured to meet any specific requirements.
